good times, great people

Saturday night was the big retirement party. We had a blast!! We laughed and laughed and launghed 'til it hurt! You know the kind of laughing your jaws hurt afterwards... This is us 13 years ago at Sea world. We are planning another group trip there in July. Looking forward to that! This is Mr. Woodbury 13 years ago at Ontario airport before the remodel. This was when you could go out and watch the planes take off and land and actually watch your loved ones get on and off the plane. We were on our way to go to Washington DC for an "America Sings" festival. Thousands of kids from all over the US got together on the lawn of the Washington Monument and sang together. It was a great moment. Patriotic. An emotion that I will never forget. It was all to benefit and bring awareness to homelss children around our country. I think every American at some point in their lives should visit our nations capital! It is so rich in history and the impact it leaves is really unmeasureable. Robbie and I will take the girls when they are old enough to remember and understand it. Mr. Woodbury devoted 30 years of his life to teaching music. It is with heartfelt emotion and graditude that I say thanks to him! He taught us much, much more than music!! Thank you Woodybury!! Happy, Happy retirement!!!! Aloha!!

Father's Day

We a had a nice Father's Day. Spent time with both Dads. Had Breakfast with one and dinner with the other. Robbie rested a little bit and then mowed the lawn and changed the tires on the burb. I made him a scrapbook page. It was bigger than my scanner, but I think you'll get the idea. The journaling is under the page and then swings out so it can be read...

Sunday

met up with some old friends and took a "now" picture for a gift for our teacher that is retiring aftr 30 years. It's funny, because you don't think you have changed much, as far as looks go, until you pull out an old picture...yeah, I guess I HAVE aged. No denying it now! HA! Here is the "now" pic...I will have to scan in the "then" picture later...

Mark, Cisco, Tara, Kim and Kristy (not pictured, Gina, Charlene and Judy) you guys are great! Thanks for so many good memories! I will never forget them!!

So...

does anybody get dizzy on the treadmill? or is it just me?? I was able to get back to the Y this morning, felt great! Except that my bowflew circuit class was filled!! so I decided to just do some cardio and go easy on the knee...went for the treadmill...felt great 'til I got off...took a second for my eyes and legs to catch up with my brain that knew I was no longer on the stinkin' thing! I am sure I was a sight to see... want a mental picture? Ever see the scare crow from the Wizard of Oz walk along the yellow brick road? Well, there ya go!

getting old? maybe...

My knee has been bothering me lately. Went to see the Doc yesterday and looks like some cartilidge (sp?) damage due to wear and tare. Nice. Need to go for some xrays. I will know more after that. Probably not much they can do, just gotta deal, I guess. Good news is I can go back to the Y and get on my excercise program again! Yay! Missed that.

needing a bit of His strength today...

Anybody excited about this??

I am totally excited to see this. Am I alone? I think it may just be me and my older brother, but I don't care!! I have been faithfully watching Smallville since the git-go...hope it's as good as I anticipate. This will be a date for the hubby and me for sure!!!! It's even coming to the IMAX in 3D...* gasp * I can barely stand it!!!

Sum Sum Summertime...

we have a pool, but there isn't anything that compares to running through the sprinklers!

"Today I Feel Silly"

by Jaime Lee Curtis is the book being read here in the girl's new bunk beds...they love to be read to, love it! If you are looking for a new read for your kids, this is a goody. It's really cute. It's about this little girl and all the moods she goes through (sometimes in one day). My 2 year old gets a little lost through it, but my 3 year old loves it! Especially the part about her feeling like a princess. I love these new bunk beads, for this reason here...loved that I captured this Daddy and his girls' moment... he is really great with them.

Like Father Like Daughter...

Need I say more??

Woody's Opus

I can't believe I have been out of school for 16 years!!! Last night I was able to meet up with some old friends from high school. Our teacher is retiring this year and last night was his final concert. This man dedicated 30 years of his life to teaching us kids music. Not just the fundamentals of it, but the passion and the emotion of music. He made us laugh. He made us cry. Sometimes, and he even made us mad, but we will be forever greatful for all his hard work. Kudos to Woodbury! Happy, happy retirement!

I felt like I was taken back in time, seeing the ol' gang back together ( well most of us)...felt like I was right back in high school again! We went out after the concert and had some laughs reminising about old times, and the goofy things we used to do. It's interesting, most people don't have fond memories of high school. For me, all my memories from back then are all about this group of people. Great group. We were good kids...didn't get into trouble and we had a blast and seeing them again is like going home. It was good times and I am looking forward to seeing them again here soon at Mr. Woodbury's retirement party! Hopefully I will have some pics to share...

happy day!!!
